Manchester City FC will be without Paul Dickov for two months after the Scottish international striker opted to have surgery on a broken toe that has been causing him discomfort for some time.

Eight weeks out
The 34-year-old forward, who has featured in 15 Premiership games this season having joined the club for a second time from Blackburn Rovers FC in the summer, missed Saturday's goalless draw at Bolton Wanderers FC and is expected to be on the sidelines for the next six to eight weeks. "Credit to Paul because he's been playing with injuries for most of the season, and he’s had this broken bone in his big toe for a couple of weeks," said the club's manager Stuart Pearce. "He wanted to soldier on; even when I told him the surgeon had decided he needed the operation Paul told me he would leave it to the summer if I wanted. That's him all over - he'll get back as quick as he can."
