Cypriot side AC Omonia have unveiled Yiannis Mantzourakis as their new coach following the departure of Romanian Ioan Andone last Friday.

Previous spells
The 59-year-old Greek coach is already a well-known figure in Cypriot football having previously been in charge at AEL Limassol FC and Omonia's Nicosia rivals APOEL FC. He has also coached a number of sides in Greece and is best remembered for guiding Olympiacos CFP to the league title in 1998/99.

Gradual change
Mantzourakis, whose new side trail Division A leaders APOEL by one point, said: "I am familiar with Omonia. I know the strength of the side and their support. They are a club who have in the past shown me their appreciation even though I was on the opposite side. We should not expect any major changes in such a short time. We will tread slowly so as not to ruin the cogs of the machine and in time we will make the improvements needed."
