Winter agreement
After Veh, together with assistant coach Alfons Higl, put pen to paper on the new contract, team manager Horst Heldt said the agreement had been struck unofficially during the winter break. "The two signatures were just a formality," said Heldt. "Veh and Higl agreed on the contract extension during the training camp in Dubai."
Just reward
Veh succeeded legendary Italian coach Giovanni Trapattoni last February and was initially appointed as "a temporary solution". However, a promising spring campaign for the 45-year-old was followed by a successful first half of the 2006/07 season, with Stuttgart occupying fourth place in the Bundesliga and having reached the German Cup quarter-finals.
