Fabiano Eller alights at Atlético

Club Atlético de Madrid have signed Trabzonspor's Brazilian defender Fabiano Eller, who helped SC Internacional beat FC Barcelona in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Club Atlético de Madrid have signed Brazilian defender Fabiano Eller from Turkish side Trabzonspor on a contract until June 2009 and have also added his compatriot Diego da Silva.

Barcelona bested
The 29-year-old Fabiano Eller, capped once by Brazil in April 2005, has been on loan in his homeland with SC Internacional, helping them win the 2006 Copa Libertadores as well as the FIFA Club World Cup, with victory against FC Barcelona in Japan last month. He had moved to Turkey from Fluminense FC in 2005, having previously played for CR Vasco da Gama, SE Palmeiras and CR Flamengo.

Diego joins
Meanwhile, 18-year-old forward Diego has left Portuguese second division team FC Penafiel and agreed a deal with Atlético until June 2010, though he will spend the rest of the season back over the border with SC Braga. Atlético sporting director Jesús García Pitarch said: "Diego is a player with a brilliant future and we have signed him in keeping with our policy of acquiring players that can be important to us in the near future."
