The 19-year-old reserve-team defender Slijngard has gone to FC Groningen on a six-month deal, while his Jong Ajax colleague Derk Boerrigter has joined second division side HFC Haarlem. The pair are contracted to Ajax until 2008 and 2007 respectively. Groningen have acquired the services of a more senior professional too, landing AZ Alkmaar attacker Martijn Meerdink, 30, for an undisclosed fee and on a two-and-a-half year contract. Sparta Rotterdam, meanwhile, have borrowed 23-year-old Denmark midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli from the Amsterdam giants.
Leaving Feyenoord, meanwhile, is former FC Den Bosch and RBC Roosendaal custodian Aerts, with the 30-year-old switching to Willem II for the next six months. Aerts has made only eight league appearances since arriving at Feyenoord in 2004 – none this season. In addition, Feyenoord's 19-year-old Brazilian defender Adalberto will play for Belgium's KVC Westerlo for two and a half years, with the Rotterdam outfit having the option of recalling him within 18 months. Another loanee is 19-year-old Ajax centre-back Jan Vertonghen, who will ply his trade with RKC Waalwijk. Further bolstering the Waalwijk lineup are Tarik Sektioui and Erwin Lemmens. Moroccan international frontman Sektioui, 29, has been recruited on loan from FC Porto, where he was out of favour, while the 30-year-old former Belgium keeper Lemmens has signed for six months after being released by Olympiacos CFP.
Willem II have also taken Ajax's 19-year-old striker Rydell Poepon on loan for the remainder of the campaign. A similar arrangement has been struck between the relegation-threatened Tilburg team and Cardiff City FC from England's second tier, with Willem II captain Iwan Redan transferring to Cardiff on a temporary basis. Redan, a 26-year-old forward, had been suspended by Willem II following a bust-up with a team-mate during a Dutch Cup tie last week.
