With the transfer window having closed at midnight on 31 January, uefa.com rounds up last-day signings involving clubs in

the top division in Italy.

US Città di Palermo have signed 19-year-old forward Edison Cavani from Uruguayan side Danubio FC for a reported €5m fee. Cavani starred in the recent South American Under-20 Championship in Paraguay, finishing as top scorer with seven goals to give Uruguay a place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada. The youngster will team up with Uruguayan international midfielder Guillermo Giacomazzi, 29, who has come in from Serie B US Lecce in a swap deal involving Gianni Munari.

Torino FC, meanwhile, have captured defender Cesare Bovo on loan from Palermo till the season's end. The 24-year-old, a former Italian Under-21 international, has played only one game for the Sicilian outfit since joining from AS Roma in the summer. The Granata have also snapped up ex-Azzurri full-back Francesco Coco, who arrives on loan from FC Internazionale Milano. The 30-year-old represented the club during the 1999/00 campaign.

UC Sampdoria have borrowed Tottenham Hotspur FC's Swiss international midfielder Reto Ziegler for six months with a view to a permanent transfer. The 21-year-old was bought by Tottenham from Grasshopper-Club in 2004/05 but has subsequently been loaned to Hamburger SV and Wigan Athletic FC.

ACF Fiorentina have taken 19-year-old midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic from FC Basel 1893 in a deal worth about €3m. The Swiss Under-21 international, who has agreed a contract until 2011, joined Basel from FC Dürrenast three years ago and broke into the first team in 2005, marking his arrival with a wonderful UEFA Cup goal against RC Strasbourg.

Reggina Calcio goalkeeper Ivan Pelizzoli has moved to FC Lokomotiv Moskva for €3m. The former Atalanta BC trainee has inked a four-year deal with the Russian side, having played for AS Roma before landing in Reggina at the start of the 2005/06 campaign. The 26-year-old has won two caps for Italy. Reggina moved swiftly to replace Pelizzoli, recruiting Christian Puggioni, 25, from Serie C1 side Pisa Calcio and the 24-year-old Nenad Novaković from Odense BK on permanent contracts.

Udinese Calcio have recruited a second Czech player, bringing in 26-year-old defender Tomáš Zápotočný from FC Slovan Liberec on a four-and-a-half year contract. The three-times capped Liberec captain will link up with former AC Sparta Praha skipper Tomáš Sivok in Udine. Midfielder Sivok, 23, joined last Tuesday.
