FC Nantes Atlantique have parted company with coach George Eo, with the eight-time French champions in serious relegation trouble in Ligue 1.
Costly defeat
The 58-year-old Eo had replaced Serge Le Dizet at the helm last September, but his reign ended in the wake of Saturday's 5-2 home defeat by Valenciennes FC. Eo had overseen just four wins in 18 league games.
'Commando spirit'
With Nantes now sitting second from bottom in the table, the western club have turned to Eo's assistants Michel Der Zakarian, a 44-year-old Armenian, and Japhet N'Doram, 46 and from Chad, who are both former Canaris players. "We need a commando spirit," said president Rudi Roussillon, as Nantes aim to preserve a top-flight status they have enjoyed since 1963.
