Allardyce happy
The 29-year-old was released by Levante UD last month, having failed to settle at the club he joined last summer after seven seasons at RC Deportivo La Coruña. With Martín, capped 12 times by Spain, although not since June 2004, Bolton manager Sam Allardyce believes he has acquired a valuable new addition in their push to break into the Premiership's top four.
Impact expected
"Cesar can make an impact in the last eleven games of the season," he said. "He has some key attributes which will potentially strengthen our defensive unit once he reaches the optimum level of fitness." He will become the second Spaniard at the fifth-ranked club, joining former Real Madrid CF defender Iván Campo. Bolton are two points behind Arsenal FC in fourth with eleven games left in the 2006/07 season.
