Germany midfielder Piotr Trochowski is looking forward to "a successful future" with Hamburger SV after extending his contract by two years until 2011.
Two caps
The 22-year-old was born in Poland but moved to Hamburg as a child. He joined FC Bayern München in 1999 but was delighted to return home when HSV came calling in winter 2005. "I'm a Hamburg boy and have enjoyed two great years here," said Trochowski, who has scored seven goals in 54 Bundesliga games for the club and has been capped twice by Germany since the FIFA World Cup.
'Incredible potential'
Hamburg chairman Bernd Hoffmann said: "We are pleased that Piotr has chosen to stay with us for such a long time. He has the potential to be a leader of the team in the future. We're happy to have completed this deal in what is a difficult time for the club." New coach Huub Stevens added: "Piotr has incredible potential and I'm delighted he's decided to stay."
