Article body
Olympiacos CFP suffered their first home defeat of the season as they went down 1-0 to arch rivals Panathinaikos FC. It was Panathinaikos' first away league victory over Olympiacos since December 1995 and completed a league double after they won by the same scoreline in November.
Late winner
The only goal was scored on 89 minutes by Panathinaikos captain Dimitrios Papadopoulos as he found the net from close-range after Dimitrios Salpingidis had dispossessed Olympiacos's Georgios Anatolakis. Olympiacos missed their best chance after 75 minutes when Panathinaikos' goalkeeper Pierre Ebede made an impressive triple save to keep out two efforts by Ieroklis Stoltidis and a shot by Vassilis Torosidis.
Lead reduced
Despite their defeat, Olympiacos remain top of the standings with 59 points from 24 matches - eight points clear of second-placed Panathinaikos. Third-placed AEK Athens FC are ten points off the pace despite recording a 3-1 home victory over Aris Thessaloniki FC on Saturday.
