Coach Branislav Milačić has resigned days before FK Budućnost face FK Zeta in the match that looks set to decide the destiny of the inaugural Montenegrin title.
Fading belief
Milačić stepped down after a 1-1 draw against bottom side FK Jedinstvo saw his side lose their place at the top of the table to Zeta, who had won 2-0 at home against FK Dečić. "When I took over at Budućnost, I believed we had a good chance to win the title," he said. "Now I don't think we have. The coach always pays for bad results and I think my resignation is the only solution."
Vuković hired
The coach's former assistant Božo Vuković will take charge until the end of the season, starting with Sunday's big game in Podgorica. Milačić had taken charge of the club in January following the resignation of Miodrag Božović – who left the side at the top of the table claiming that he was under unbearable pressure from club officials over team performances. Budućnost have been in poor form in the spring, taking just nine points from six games, while Zeta have picked up 13.
