Toulouse FC moved up to second position with a 2-0 home win against AJ Auxerre, swapping places with RC Lens who were held to a 0-0 draw on a day of few goals in Ligue 1.
Mansaré strike
In-form Toulouse took the lead after just seven minutes as Cameroonian Achille Emana fired a low cross-shot inside the post, and there was time for team-mate Johan Elmander to have a second goal ruled out for a foul on Auxerre goalkeeper Olivier Sorin before Fodé Mansaré scored Toulouse's second after 30 minutes.
Lyon denied
The win spoiled the celebrations for Auxerre's 1000th Ligue 1 fixtures and also ensured that Olympique Lyonnais' title champagne will remain on ice for another week. Had Toulouse lost, Lyon could have been confirmed as champions for a sixth successive time on Sunday with a win against struggling CS Sedan-Ardennes.
Goalless games
Lens slipped to third with a goalless draw at bottom side FC Nantes Atlantique, and Paris Saint-Germain FC will be happier with their 0-0 draw at FC Girondins de Bordeaux. The results set the tone, and nor were there goals in the games between Le Mans UC 72 and Stade Rennais FC, FC Lorient and AS Monaco FC, ES Troyes Aube Champagne and AS Nancy-Lorraine and Olympique de Marseille and Valenciennes FC.
Lille relief
LOSC Lille Métropole did have goals to celebrate, however, as they kept their European ambitions afloat with a 2-0 win against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, ending a run of three successive league defeats. Nicolas Fauvergue and Kevin Mirallas were both on target.
