Younger Eto'o nets Metalurh deal

David Eto'o, younger brother of FC Barcelona's Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto'o, has joined Ukrainian club FC Metalurh Donetsk until the end of the season.

Until end of season
Eto'o has agreed a contract until the end of the current Ukrainian season with Metalurh with an option to extend it. The club's vice-president, Dmytro Seliuk, said: "David has everything to become a great player. He has a good example as well in his elder brother, who is one of Barcelona's star players. At one stage the younger brother of [Arsenal FC's] Kolo Touré, Yaya, played for us. He progressed so fast, that he is now playing for [AS] Monaco [FC]."

Brotherly advice
The 19-year-old Eto'o signed for RCD Mallorca B in 2003 but left the club after loan stints with CF Ciudad de Murcia and Yverdon-Sport FC. He then had spells at CS Sedan-Ardennes, FC Champagne Sports, FC Meyrin, SD Ponferradina and US Créteil. Eto'o said: "After receiving Metalurh’s offer I had a conversation with my brother and he advised me to sign. After coming here I was quite surprised. I've never seen such great facilities for training. I've signed a contract until the end of the season, and after that we'll think about my future with the club's board."
