The reigning Swiss champions drew 0-0 with St. Gallen on 1 April, but subsequently complained that their opponents had fielded a suspended player, substitute Philipp Muntwiler, who had been dismissed in an Under-21 game for the club on the previous day. The league's disciplinary committee have now awarded the match as a 3-0 win for Zürich, extending their lead over second-placed FC Basel 1893 from three points to five. Basel have been threatening Lucien Favre's side's position at the top of the table since Christmas, beating their rivals 4-2 at St. Jakob-Park in a league game on Sunday. St. Gallen remain fourth in the table.
