Olympique de Marseille have boosted their squad for next season's UEFA Champions League by signing Jacques Faty and Vincent Gragnic on three-year contracts.
Rennes move
French Under 21 international Faty joins the French runners-up from Stade Rennais FC, where the 23-year-old has spent his entire career to date, making 123 league appearances without scoring since his debut in the 2002/03 season. The elder brother of AS Roma midfielder Ricardo Faty, he can play as a centre-back, a right-back or a defensive midfielder. "My versatility can suit Marseille," he said.
Giménez deal
Gragnic is more of an unknown quantity, having been playing in Ligue 2 with FC Libourne-Saint-Seurin. The 23-year-old is yet to appear in the top flight but scored six goals in 31 games this season. Marseille have also reached an agreement with Hertha BSC Berlin to turn the loan of Argentinian striker Christian Giménez into a permanent move to the German capital, while Albanian midfielder Lorik Cana looks set to extend his contract with Albert Emon's side by a further three years.
