Boavista FC have struck a deal to bring goalkeeper Carlos Fernandes back to Portuguese football from FC Steaua Bucuresti.
Two-year contract
The 27-year-old played three times in the UEFA Champions League group stage for Steaua this season but fell out of favour after the 4-1 defeat by Real Madrid CF on 17 October. Fernandes, who has agreed a two-year contract after moving on a free transfer, played for Boavista in the 2004/05 campaign before switching to Bucharest midway through the following season. "I like Boavista very much so I am happy to return," he said. "I expect to restart my career in Boavista so I can move to a bigger club in the future."
