Wisła call for Groclin's cup king

Polish giants Wisła Kraków have named Maciej Skorża as their new coach after he won two cups while in charge of Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski this season.

Polish giants Wisła Kraków have named 35-year-old Maciej Skorża as their new coach after a successful season in which he won two cups in charge of Groclin Grodzisk Wielkopolski.

Wisła targets
The coach, who was assistant to Paweł Janas with the Polish national team that reached the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals, led Groclin to Polish Cup and Polish League Cup successes this year before deciding to take over at Wisła, who endured their worst season in a decade, finishing eighth in the Ekstralasa. "Working for Wisła is an honour for any coach," he said. "Our aim is clear – we must build a team which will be competitive in European club competitions and will be able to reach the UEFA Champions League group stage." Andrzej Blacha, who was Skorża’s assistant at Groclin, has joined him at Wisła while Kazimierz Moskal will remain on the coaching staff after ending the season as the club’s caretaker coach.
