Rossoneri cancel Suazo signing

Four days after announcing the signing of Honduran international striker David Suazo from Cagliari Calcio, AC Milan have cancelled the deal because the player had previously agreed a contract with FC Internazionale Milano.

'Withdrawing from negotiations'
"Milan negotiated a contract with Cagliari for the transfer of player David Suazo," the Rossoneri said in a statement on their official website. "However, Milan have since learned that the player had already signed a contract with FC Internazionale Milano and are now withdrawing from negotiations. Milan want to emphasise that they have acted legally in conforming with the national and international sporting rules and regulations."

Scoring success
The 28-year-old Suazo, who was on holiday when Milan announced the deal with Cagliari, has spent eight seasons with the Sardinian club since moving to Italy in 1999, scoring 94 goals in 255 matches including 22 in 2005/06, his most prolific campaign. After reaching an agreement with the forward, who has scored eight goals in 29 international appearances for his country, champions Inter are now expected to reopen negotiations with the Sardinian club.
