Buffon made his Serie A debut for Parma FC in 1995 and his international debut two years later.
Club loyalty
The Juventus custodian, who signed for the Italian giants from Parma in 2001, played 37 games in Serie B last season after deciding to stay with the Bianconeri despite their enforced relegation to Serie B as a consequence of the sporting fraud scandal which hit Italian football last summer. Capped 75 times, Buffon was a FIFA World Cup winner with the Azzurri last summer.
