Final hurrah
The coach, who is expected to be named as the new man in charge at Wisła Kraków, led Groclin to a 2-0 success against Korona Kielce in the Polish Cup final on 1 May and completed a double as defender Błażej Telichowski headed in veteran midfielder Piotr Świerczewski's cross on 43 minutes for the only goal. His replacement at Groclin has already been announced as former KS Odra Wodzislaw Śląski boss Jacek Zieliński.

Ups and downs
Elsewhere, the four sides who have won promotion to the Ekstraklasa have been confirmed. Ruch Chorzów – the most successful club in Polish history alongside Górnik Zabrze with 14 titles apiece – return to the top division after a four-season absence after winning the second division title. They are joined by Jagiellonia Białystok, TS Polonia Bytom and Zagłębie Sosnowiec. Wisła Płock and MKS Pogoń Szczecin were relegated while Arka Gdynia and Górnik Łęczna were demoted for their part in a match-fixing case.
