Zaragoza seal loan star signings

Real Zaragoza have taken up options to sign Carlos Diogo in a €4.5m deal from Real Madrid CF and Andrés D'Alessandro from VfL Wolfsburg following the pair's successful season on loan at La Romareda.

Double dealing
Uruguayan international defender Diogo, 23, joins Zaragoza outright on a four-year contract, having made 30 starts for the northern club who sit fifth in Spain's Primera División. Argentina's D'Alessandro will also be committed to the cause until 2011 after Zaragoza agreed an undisclosed fee with Wolfsburg for the former CA River Plate playmaker who has made 34 league appearances this term, scoring two goals. Wednesday's double announcement came 24 hours after striker Sergio García signed up for a similar period. Zaragoza can secure UEFA Cup qualification in their remaining two games against Real Madrid and RC Recreativo de Huelva.
