Ljubo Petrovic has left UEFA Cup contenders PFC Litex Lovech and will be replaced at the Bulgarian club by Ferario Spasov, who returns for a third spell in charge.

Revolving door
Petrovic, who won the European Champion Clubs' Cup with FK Crvena Zvezda in 1991, departs Litex for the second time after two seasons at the helm he first occupied for five months in 2004. Having led the team to Bulgarian Cup glory that term, the Serbian quit in order to rejoin Crvena Zvezda, yet he was subsequently reappointed in summer 2005.

Trophy haul
Litex reached the Bulgarian Cup final again last month, though this time they lost 1-0 after extra time to PFC Levski Sofia. The side also finished fourth in the top flight. Spasov will take them into the UEFA Cup in 2007/08, and will be hoping to repeat the success of his first two stints, including a league championship in 1999 and Bulgarian Cup victory two years later.

French connection
Litex have also signed a second French player, with Dijon FCO midfielder Fabien Boudarène joining Jean-Philippe Caillet at the club. Boudarène, 28, arrives in Bulgaria on a free transfer, having accepted a two-year contract. The newcomer was previously with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and AS Saint-Etienne.
