Title ambitions
Romanian Cup winners Rapid, who start their campaign in the first round of the UEFA Cup, have brought in Brazilian striker Cesinha from SC Braga. The 27-year-old had spent three seasons with the Portuguese side, scoring seven goals in 68 league appearances. After signing a four-year contract in Romania, he said his ambition was to win the LIGA I title with Rapid.

Nigerian talent
Meanwhile Steaua, who will need to negotiate their way through the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, have signed 23-year-old defender Ifeanyi Emeghara from FC Politehnica Timisoara. The Nigerian player made 42 league appearances for the Romanian club after joining them from Belgrade side FK Partizan.
