Emotional moment
Mihaylov, son of Bulgarian Football Union president and former international goalkeeper Borislav Mihaylov, has signed a three-year contract with an option for a further two years and has been brought in as cover for first-choice custodian Pepe Reina, according to the club's website. "I have no words," Mihaylov told Bulgarian website www.sportal.bg after passing a medical examination in Liverpool. "This is the greatest moment of my life."
Birthday present
Mihaylov, who turns 19 on Thursday, made his senior international debut in a 5-1 defeat by Scotland in Japan last May and played in Levski Sofia's UEFA Champions League Group A loss at the hands of Werder Bremen last season. Liverpool, who reached the UEFA Champions League final in May, will begin next season's edition in the third qualifying round stage.
