Roma spell
The 28-year-old joined Valencia at the start of 2006/07 after scoring 19 goals in Serie A with Empoli FC the previous season but failed to earn a regular place in the Spanish side. He played only three times as a substitute in the Primera División and appeared twice in the UEFA Champions League before joining AS Roma on loan in January. Tavano played 14 games in Serie A scoring two goals for Roma but the Giallorossi did not use the option to sign him on permanent basis from Valencia for €10m and he has now agreed a four-year contract with Livorno.
