Paraguay midfielder Julio Dos Santos will hope to get his club career back on track after joining Spanish newcomers UD Almería on loan from FC Bayern München.

New start
The 24-year-old, who remains contracted at Bayern until June 2009, has failed to make an impact since signing from Club Cerro Porteño in his homeland in January 2006. He made just four league appearances last season, having featured only once in the previous Bundesliga campaign. He also figured twice in Bayern's 2006/07 UEFA Champions League campaign before suffering a broken right leg last December, a day after joining VfL Wolfsburg on loan. Fit-again this summer, Dos Santos represented Paraguay at the Copa América and will hope to prove his worth in the Primera División. Capped 23 times, he was his country’s player of the year in 2005 and went on to play twice at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
