Honours
A central defender with Ferencvárosi TC and Budapest Honvéd FC, Páncsics won three national championships and the Hungarian Cup during his club career. On the international stage he was capped 37 times by the Magyars but failed to add to his Olympic medal when Hungary lost 1-0 to Russia in the semi-finals of the 1972 UEFA European Championship.
Stepping upstairs
Páncsics remained in football after hanging up his boots, working as a director at both FC Sopron and Ferencváros before taking various roles within the MLSZ prior to his promotion to general secretary, a position he held for three years from 1981.
