Adilbek Dzhaksybekov has been elected as the new president of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan (FFK), replacing Rakhat Aliyev in the post.

Unanimous choice
The 53-year-old Dzhaksybekov was the unanimous choice of delegates at the FFK's conference, which took place in Almaty today. "I want to thank the previous leaders of the FFK and the former executive committee for all the work they have done," said Dzhaksybekov, who has been president of Astana's football federation since 2000 and had been the leader of the Kazakhstan president's administration for three years.

'Accessible for all'
"We have to unite now in order to help our football," the new FFK president added. "It has to become accessible for everyone. We have to bring children, youth players and woman into football. Our country has big economical potential and would be worth its place in the world's hierarchy. We have to do a lot to achieve that - build new stadiums and pitches, develop youth football and help local clubs to improve their infrastructure. I can promise I'll do all I can to justify faith in me and fulfil the hopes of all football fans in Kazakhstan."
