Lively starts for Maltese trio

Canny coach
Sliema, again under the clever guidance of coach Ray 'Zazu' Farrugia, have still to concede a goal. Two 3-0 victories against Msida St Joseph FC and Hamrun Spartans FC have lifted the Wanderers to the top of the table. However, despite a major reshuffle since the end of last season, Brian Talbot's champions Marsaxlokk are also on maximum points after two matches. They won 3-1 against Pietà Hotspurs FC and then got exactly the same result against Msida.

Prolific scorer
Christian Caruana has already scored three goals for Floriana, who kicked off their campaign with a rousing 3-2 derby triumph at arch-rivals and title favourites Valletta FC. Floriana followed that up with a 1-0 success against Hibernians FC. The latter are reflecting on a dismal start having opened with a 1-1 draw against Birkirkara FC.
