Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has lodged an appeal with UEFA against his four-match ban and €12,000 fine for assault following incidents at the end of the UEFA EURO 2008™ Group A qualifier between Portugal and Serbia in Lisbon on 12 September.
4 October appeal hearing
The punishment was handed down to Scolari by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body last week. The UEFA Appeals Body will hear the appeal on Thursday 4 October at 09.30CET. Under Article 56 of the UEFA disciplinary regulations, the parties will attend the appeals hearing. The chairman may release one of the parties from taking part upon a reasoned request. Scolari has until 1 October to send the grounds for his appeal.
