Article body
A strike by Vicenzo Iaquinta three minutes from time secured Juventus a point at AS Roma on Sunday and ended the capital club's 100 per cent start in Serie A on a day that saw champions FC Internazionale Milano held by AS Livorno Calcio.
Roma denied
Roma, who had won their opening three fixtures without conceding a goal, went behind against Juventus after 16 minutes when David Trezeguet found the net but looked to be on course to keep up their winning run after Francesco Totti scored twice in six minutes. It was not to be though as Iaquinta struck late to earn Juventus a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Inter held
Inter kept up their unbeaten start but were made to work for a point at winless Livorno. Two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimović, the second a penalty 18 minutes from time, earned Roberto Mancini's side a point in a game that their opponents had twice led. Meanwhile, the first Genoa derby in 13 years proved to be a disappointment as UC Sampdoria and Genoa CFC drew 0-0 in a game of few opportunities - Vincenzo Montella missing the only chance of note for hosts Sampdoria in the second half.
Lazio beaten
Elsewhere, UEFA Champions League contenders S.S. Lazio lost 2-1 at Atalanta BC while US Città di Palermo and ACF Fiorentina were both 1-0 winners at Cagliari Calcio and Calcio Catania respectively. Empoli FC and SSC Napoli played out a goalless draw and Torino FC and AC Siena drew 1-1.
