Partizan make new appointments

Tomislav Karadžić has been named as the new president at FK Partizan in sweeping changed that see new roles for former players Gordan Petrić and Ivan Tomić.

'The right direction'
The 66-year-old former president of the Football Association of Serbia and Montenegro has taken over the presidency left vacant following Nenad Popović's resignation with a mandate until February 2010. He said: "When I was a student, I watched all of Partizan's training sessions and matches. Now I have opportunity to lead the club in the right direction."

New roles
Meanwhile the club's executive committee have named former Rangers FC defender Petrić as their new general secretary after Žarko Zečević stepped aside following 22 years in the post. One-time AS Roma midfielder Tomić is also looking forward to a challenging new role after replacing Nenad Bjeković as the club's sporting director. Partizan top the Serbian table after six rounds.
