FC Energie Cottbus were denied a first win of the Bundesliga season on Sunday after letting a two-goal lead slip against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Rangelov double
Two goals from Dimitar Rangelov, the Bulgarian striker’s first for the club since arriving on loan from RC Strasbourg, had given Energie a dream start. He opened the scoring on seven minutes before doubling the advantage eleven minutes later. However, Ioannis Amanatidis pulled one back just after the break and then broke home hearts with a 78th-minute penalty. The point gained from the 2-2 draw means Eintracht are up to eighth place, while Energie are within three points of 1. FC Nürnberg and MSV Duisberg, who occupy the two other relegation positions. Duisberg were also in action on Sunday afternoon and went down 2-1 at mid-table Hannover 96 when two Christian Schulz goals did the damage.
