Trabzonspor have appointed former Turkey coach Ersun Yanal to the helm after parting company with Ziya Doğan on Monday.
Three-year contract
Yanal, 45, has signed a three-year contract to take over the side seventh in the Turkish Süper Lig, having led Yeni Salihlispor, Denizlispor, MKE Ankaragücü and also Gençlebirliği SK, where he reached the 2003/04 UEFA Cup quarter-finals, before coaching the national team during the unsuccessful 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. He left his last job at Vestel Manisaspor in March. Club spokesman Zeyyat Kafkas said: "Ersun Yanal is one of the leading young Turkish coaches of recent years. He will find an opportunity to show his potential at a big club like Trabzonspor."
