Karlsruher SC's hopes of continuing their fine start to the Bundesliga season took a blow when ever-present keeper Markus Miller was ruled out for six months.

Karlsruher SC's hopes of continuing their fine start to the Bundesliga season following promotion took a blow today when goalkeeper Markus Miller was ruled out for six months with a knee injury.

Confirmation
The 25-year-old ruptured cruciate ligaments during Saturday's goalless draw at FC Hansa Rostock, a result which kept Karlsruhe in fourth place in the table. An x-ray confirmed the club's fears about their ever-present keeper, and Miller will be replaced by Frenchman Jean-François Kornetzky for tomorrow's German Cup tie against VfL Wolfsburg. Miller has decided not to undergo surgery, with club doctor Marcus Schweizer explaining: "Basically, if you tear the rear cruciate ligament, it is possible to have surgery or let it heal the conventional way. The latest tests on Markus have revealed, that a conventional treatment might be successful."
