Olympiacos CFP defeated Larissa FC 1-0 to win the first Greek Super Cup to be played for eleven years.

Mitroglou winner
Staging the game at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, the Super League title-holders took the lead against the Greek Cup holders on 39 minutes when Aristidis Soiledis's cross from the left was met by the head of Konstantinos Mitroglou. Luciano Galletti's late free-kick hit the post for Olympiacos, but the trophy was theirs, Larissa's best chances having come early on when home goalkeeper Michalis Sifakis denied Andreas Lampropoulos and Panagiotis Bachramis with fine saves.

Revived competition
The Super Cup had been held on seven previous occasions between 1987 and 1996, and with their victory Olympiacos equalled Panathinaikos FC's record of three wins. Olympiacos, currently third in the top flight, return to UEFA Champions League action next Tuesday against Real Madrid CF. Two days later Larissa welcome FC Zenit St. Petersburg in the UEFA Cup.
