FC Pyunik have won their seventh straight Armenian title, and their tenth since independence, following a 4-1 win against FC Ararat Yerevan this afternoon.

Emphatic finish
The title race has been unusually fierce this season, but Pyunik were still able to clinch the crown with a game to spare after coming from behind to trounce third-placed Ararat. Levon Pachajyan cancelled out the opener before a brilliant Arsen Avetisyan effort gave Pyunik the lead. Agvan Mkrtchyan scored a third with Pachajyan turning provider and Henrik Mkhitaryan finished the scoring.

Final day
The race for second place is still on, with FC Banants – last season's runners-up – losing 1-0 against FC MIKA in a game where victory would have guaranteed them a final position behind Pyunik. They are likely to finish the job off against rock bottom FC Kilikia on Saturday, but should they slip up, both Ararat and MIKA might be able to seize second place in the final round of fixtures.
