Dnipro pedigree
The 30-year-old, who has not played for CSKA in the UEFA Champions League this season, will look to get his career back on track with the side currently ranked second in the Ukrainian Premier League. "Lately things have not go well for me at CSKA so I did not think twice after receiving a serious offer from Dnipro," he said. "This is a club with tradition, serious management and strong players."
EURO side effect
Having scored once in 31 appearances for Russia, Gusev won three titles, three Russian Cups and the 2004/05 UEFA Cup with CSKA and said: "I was keen to try myself in a new league but I did not sign until I spoke to [coach] Oleg Protasov and heard that wanted me." He added: "I think the standard of football in Ukraine will improve as they prepare to co-host UEFA EURO 2012™."
