Damien Richardson has ended his three-year stay as manager of Irish Premier Division side Cork City FC, just two weeks after winning the FAI Cup which gave the club entry to the 2008/09 UEFA Cup.
Parting of the ways
Richardson, 60, became the most successful manager in Cork's history when he guided them to the cup final win over Longford Town FC – following their Irish title triumph of 2005 – but the two parties have now agreed to go their separate ways. "Damien Richardson and Cork City Football Club wish to announce that they have resolved their differences amicably," said a Cork statement. "The club is very grateful to Mr Richardson for his commitment and hard work, as reflected in the club's most recent successes." Bohemian FC are also looking for a new manager following the sacking of Seán Connor.
