Epureanu claims best player award

FC Moskva's 21-year-old defender Alexandru Epureanu has been crowned Moldova's Player of the Year after being chosen by a 200-strong poll of football experts.

Dobrovolski honoured
Epureanu's fellow FC Moskva team-mate Radu Rebeja finished runner-up with 167 points, while FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Viorel Frunza came third with 79 points. Moldova’s national team coach Igor Dobrovolski was named coach of the year, ahead of Emilian Caras of FC Dacia Chisinau and FC Sheriff's Leonid Kuchuk while Nicolai Calancea of FC Zimbru Chisinau earned the title of goalkeeper of the year.

Further accolades
Sheriff's Vaja Tarkhnishvili was voted best defender, Nicolai Josan of FC Iskra-Stali claimed the best midfielder accolade and FC Tiraspol's Igor Picusciac took the best forward award. Sheriff's Aleksei Kuchuk finished the season as leading goalscorer, Dacia were named team of the year, Vyacheslav Banar the best referee and Sheriff received the Fair Play award.
