English Premier League side Wigan Athletic FC have signed striker Marlon King on a three-and-a-half year contract from high-flying Championship club Watford FC.
Transfer collapsed
The 27-year-old had been expected to join Fulham FC when they agreed a €6.75m fee with Watford last week, but the transfer stalled, allowing strugglers Wigan to step in. King missed most of Watford's Premier League campaign last season with a knee injury but has recovered to score eleven league goals this term following his team's relegation.
'110 per cent'
"It's all about taking your opportunities – I've been given one and I want to take it," said the Jamaican international. "I went down to Fulham, had a long medical and for some reason there was a hitch. I know my body is 110 per cent. I didn't fail a medical. I've been playing for a season and a half now and scoring goals. I had a medical at Wigan and everything went smoothly, so I decided to make the switch."
