Ivan Jovanović has made a return to coach Cypriot side APOEL FC following the departure of Marinos Ouzounides.

Title race
The 45-year-old coach, who ended his third spell at Greek side Iraklis FC in December, previously guided APOEL to the 2003/04 title and has signed a contract with the Nicosia club until May 2009. Jovanović was approached just hours after the resignation of Ouzounides yesterday following the 1-0 defeat by league leaders Anorthosis Famagusta FC that left APOEL nine points adrift. He agreed to return provided he could choose his own assistant and goalkeeping coach. Jovanović said: "It is a great honour for APOEL to have recalled me during this difficult time. From my spell at APOEL I have very happy and unforgettable memories. I have a great challenge ahead of me."
