NK Dinamo Zagreb have wasted no time in finding a new coach, installing former Croatian international Zvonimir Soldo at the helm just 24 hours after Branko Ivanković resigned.

Ivanković stepped down yesterday following criticism from the club's executive vice-president Zdravko Mamić, despite guiding Dinamo to the title last term and to a 12-point lead by this season's winter break. Expectations will therefore be high for Soldo, who recently completed coach training in Cologne having ended a successful ten-year playing spell with VfB Stuttgart in summer 2006.

'Not afraid'
A former Dinamo Zagreb player, Soldo made 301 Bundesliga appearances for VfB, and although his coaching experience is limited to a stint with Dinamo's youth team, he is undaunted. "I am not afraid," said the 40-year-old, whose contract details have not been revealed. "We need to win the double this season, then next season we can make a step forward in Europe. I think I can do that."
