Austria midfielder to join Hoffenheim

Austrian international midfielder Andreas Ibertsberger has agreed to join ambitious German second division club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at the end of the season.

Ibertsberger, 25, will move to Hoffenheim from their 2. Bundesliga rivals SC Freiburg during a summer when he will also hope to play for Austria at UEFA EURO 2008™. The former FC Salzburg player "will fit perfectly into our team and will be a big help in our quest for promotion," said Hoffenheim general manager Jan Schindelmeier. Ibertsberger has made ten league appearances this term for a Freiburg side sitting fourth in the 2. Bundesliga, eight points above Hoffenheim in eighth. He has 12 international caps.
