Darcheville appeal rejected

Cases

UEFA has rejected Jean-Claude Darcheville's appeal against his three-match ban.

UEFA has rejected an appeal against the three-match ban imposed on Rangers FC striker Jean-Claude Darcheville after his dismissal for stepping on an opponent's ankle in the UEFA Champions League Group E game against Olympique Lyonnais in Glasgow on 12 December.

Misses UEFA Cup matches
The UEFA Appeals Body verdict, confirming last month's decision by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body, means Darcheville will miss his team's UEFA Cup Round of 32 matches against Greek opponents Panathinaikos FC, in Glasgow and Athens on 13 and 21 February, as well as one future UEFA competition game. Rangers are in the UEFA Cup after finishing third in their UEFA Champions League group. Darcheville was sent off in the 91st minute of the match, which Lyon won 3-0, for the incident.
