AS Roma signalled their intention to keep chasing FC Internazionale Milano for the Serie A title with a convincing 4-0 defeat of struggling Parma FC but AC Milan lost more ground as they drew 1-1 against S.S. Lazio.

Six-point gap
Roma were denied maximum points at Inter on Wednesday by a last-minute equaliser, leaving them still nine points adrift. But they have now cut that lead by three, at least until Inter visit SSC Napoli on Sunday. Alberto Aquilani opened the scoring just before the half-hour as he pounced on a rebound, and Roma began the second half in happy fashion as Parma defender Giulio Falcone put the ball into his own net. Francesco Totti, who struck against Inter, added the third today with nine minutes left and substitute Mirko Vučinić completed the scoring.

Milan held
While Roma go to Real Madrid CF in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, Milan welcome Arsenal FC but will not want a repeat of today's result. Rolando Bianchi gave Lazio the lead early in the second half when he turned in Goran Pandev's cross and, although Massimo Oddo equalised from the penalty spot after Kakha Kaladze was fouled with 19 minutes left, Milan could not force a winner and remain fifth, a point adrift of ACF Fiorentina, who visit third-placed Juventus on Sunday.
