Milošević agrees return with Rubin

Savo Milošević, the most-capped Serbian of all-time, has signed for Russian side FC Rubin Kazan on a one-year contract having been without a club since the summer.

The 34-year-old striker left CA Osasuna in the summer, the latest twist in a career that had already taken him to FK Partizan, Aston Villa FC, Real Zaragoza, Parma FC, RCD Espanyol and  RC Celta de Vigo. A proposed move to Toronto FC fell through, leaving Milošević without a club, but he has now joined last season's tenth-placed Russian Premier-Liga finishers five days before their 2008 campaign kicks off at FC Lokomotiv Moskva. In his international career for Yugoslavia and then Serbia and Montenegro, ending in 2006, Milošević claimed a national record 101 caps and 35 goals, and was joint top scorer at UEFA EURO 2000™.

FC Shinnik Yaroslavl have signed South Africa midfielder MacBeth Sibaya from Russia Premier-Liga rivals FC Rubin Kazan on a one-year contract. The experienced defensive midfielder, who has played for clubs in Hungary, Norway and South Africa, joined Rubin in 2003 and has since scored two goals in 101 appearances. The 31-year-old Sibaya played for his country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals in Korea/Japan.

Georgian international midfielder David Kvirkvelia has joined Russian Premier-Liga side FC Rubin Kazan on a three-year contract from Ukrainian outfit FC Metalurh Zaporizhya. The 27-year-old, who has made 31 appearances for his country, was named Georgian Footballer of the Year in 2005 after securing a league and cup double with FC Dinamo Tbilisi, and is set to team up with compatriots Nukri Revishvili and Lasha Salukvadze at his new club.

Semak moves from Moskva to Rubin

FC Moskva midfielder and former Russian international Sergei Semak has signed a long-term deal with league rivals FC Rubin Kazan. The former PFC CSKA Moskva player, 31, impressed for Moskva last season after returning from Paris Saint-Germain FC but has elected to move on to Rubin. "The contribution of this player to Moskva's team development cannot be overrated," said an official Moskva statement.

Russian side FC Rubin Kazan have drafted in 21-year-old left-back Cristián Daniel Ansaldi from CA Newell's Old Boys, with the Argentinian signing a five-year contract. Rubin, tenth in the Premier-Liga last season, are said to have paid around €5m for the versatile Ansaldi, who can also operate in midfield. He scored twice in 29 league appearances for Newell's.

Turkmenistan international striker Vladimir Bairamov, who also has a Russian passport, has moved from FC Rubin Kazan to FC Khimki on a free transfer, signing a two-year deal with the club. The 27-year-old has spent four and a half years at Rubin, scoring 15 goals in 83 appearances.
