FC Internazionale Milano drew 1-1 at Genoa CFC to extend their lead over title rivals AS Roma to seven points after the Giallorossi's last-minute derby defeat by S.S. Lazio.
Ten men
Leading through David Suazo's eleventh-minute effort, Roberto Mancini's Inter side were reduced to ten men before the break when Pelé was dismissed for two cautions in quick succession. But just when it looked like the Nerazzurri would hold on for the three points, Marco Boriello's 16th league goal of the season in the 85th minute earned the hosts a point.
Behrami winner
Kicking off 45 minutes later, Roma squandered the chance to close the gap when they went down 3-2 to Lazio, Valon Behrami scoring the winner for the Biancocelesti in the 90th minute. Taddei (31) had earlier put Roma ahead, but Goran Pandev (44) levelled and Tomasso Rocchi (56) then made it 2-1 to Lazio. When Simone Perrotta (62) equalised, it looked like the status quo at the top was to be maintained until Behrami's intervention.
Milan woe
Elsewhere, AC Milan have won just twice in their last eight league matches following a 2-1 home defeat by UC Sampdoria, who are now only a point behind the Rossoneri. The Blucerchiati were two goals to the good inside the opening 25 minutes thanks to Christian Maggio (12) and Gennaro Delvecchio (25) before Alberto Paloschi (71) ensured a nervous finish for the fifth-placed visitors.
Viola beaten
Already four points ahead of Carlo Ancelotti's side in the final UEFA Champions League qualification place, fourth-placed ACF Fiorentina were unable to extend their lead due to a 2-0 defeat at SSC Napoli, for whom Ezequiel Lavezzi scored twice inside nine first-half minutes (23 and 32). Juventus, one place and five points above the Viola, consolidated third place with a goalless draw against Empoli FC.
Cagliari buoyant
Seventh-placed Udinese Calcio earned a 1-0 victory at Torino FC while basement side Cagliari Calcio won for the second time in three days, this time 1-0 at home to Atalanta BC, to move within four points of fourth-bottom AS Livorno Calcio. It finished 1-1 between Livorno and 18th-placed Reggina Calcio while Calcio Catania, who lie 16th, drew 0-0 at home to AC Siena. Parma FC climbed two places to 15th courtesy of a 2-1 home defeat of US Città di Palermo.
