Arsenal third
Arsenal moved on to 77 points, a tally that ensures they will finish at least third. Manchester United FC and Chelsea FC occupy the top two spots, both on 81 points. Although Arsenal still have a remote chance of winning the title if United and Chelsea collapse in their final two matches, there was an end-of-season atmosphere at Pride Park.
Bendtner opener
Derby started the better but a dreadful mistake by Darren Moore set up Arsenal's opener by Nicklas Bendtner after 25 minutes. Derby, who conceded six goals for the second home game in succession after a 6-0 rout by Aston Villa FC, equalised through James McEveley in the 31st minute, only for Robin van Persie to put Arsenal back in front five minutes from half-time. Adebayor made it 3-1 on 59 minutes and though substitute Robert Earnshaw reduced the deficit with 13 minutes left, late strikes from Theo Walcott and Adebayor, completing his treble with two more, made sure of a convincing win.
