FC Girondins de Bordeaux players Benoît Tremoulinas and Johan Micoud have been banned by UEFA for three and two European club competition matches respectively.
Two suspensions
Tremoulinas was sent off in the 72nd minute of the French club's UEFA Cup Round of 32 second leg against RSC Anderlecht on 21 February after having stepped on the knee of an opposing player. Micoud has been suspended for insulting comments made to an assistant referee in the tunnel after the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw and saw Bordeaux eliminated 3-2 on aggregate.
Two-match ban
Bordeaux masseur Marc Vernet has also been banned from carrying out his functions for two UEFA club competition matches after tripping an assistant referee in the tunnel following the game while the club have also been fined €20,368 (CHF32,000) by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body for the improper conduct of their fans and team. Appeals may be lodged against the various decisions within three days of receipt of the grounds for the verdict.
